How Blogging Changed My Life

I just returned from the Design Bloggers Conference in LA where over 230 bloggers, designers and others in the interior design industry gathered for two full days packed with wonderful speakers and panels.  There was such an incredible energy in the room with so much valuable information being passed around. Prior to the conference, attendees were encouraged to enter a contest where we were asked to write a short post about “How Blogging Changed My Life.” Along with a description, we were to include an inspirational photo. I have been blogging now for just over a year. When I started, I had no idea how it would affect my life or my interior design career.  But, not only have I been enjoying the creative process of the posts, but because of the blog, I have also become heavily involved with Twitter and Facebook.  As a result, I have forged so many connections with people with whom I would never have known otherwise. And, these connections have certainly been life changing. One clear night, when the moon was full and bright, I convinced my husband to drive me up to the highest point in the city where we live where I was able to take the photo that would inspire me to write the following blog post:

How Blogging Changed My Life: Leslie Fine

Writing can be a lonely pursuit. However, my blog has connected me to engaging, insightful and intelligent people from all over the world.  Looking up at the moon, I think about others who are also looking up and who have made the world feel much smaller and welcoming. I was honored to be awarded with the second place prize – three wonderful bottles of wine, hand selected by WineZag’s Adam Japko.  When I uncork those bottles, I will think about all of the wonderful professionals that I met at the conference and all of the wonderful people that I connect with each day through my blog. Cheers!
