When used properly screens can be a great design tool. Screens will add a bit of structure in a room with little interest and they are perfect for hiding unwanted architectural elements such as venting or camouflaging oddly proportioned rooms. They are also perfect for creating a smaller space with in a larger room.
The key to selecting a screen is finding something that works seamlessly with the rest of the design while making sure it is sturdy enough to withstand everyday traffic. Here are a few screens that have caught my eye.
I love the glamor of this massive mirrored screen.
This Asian influenced screen creates a defined seating area.
This beautifully crafted screen adds interest to a monochromatic color scheme.
This antique leather screen was the inspiration for the entire room.
Mariette Himes Gomez used this leather screen as a piece of art.
