What are you most concerned with when it comes to remodeling your kitchen or bathroom? Appliances, countertops, ample storage space and flooring might all come to mind – and rightfully so. But let’s not forget about what makes these rooms so functional in the first place – the fixtures!

Adding a touch of glamour in the kitchen and bathroom has never been more popular. Fixtures in a variety of finishes can add that touch of dazzling shimmer. From polished nickel to oil rubbed bronze, designers are seeing more and more demand for these warm, rich features at home.

Faucets and fixtures provide the perfect opportunity to blend (or even contrast) metal finishes with similar decorative hardware accessories such as cabinet knobs and pulls. The same blending of metals and styles can also be done with faucets and light fixtures.

Nickel and chrome tend to have more pizazz while darker finishes lend themselves to a more subtle sophistication.

Some bronze fixtures are authentic while others are merely coated in a bronze-colored finish. Real bronze, over time, will develop an antique-like color change known as a patina.

  1. I love that 2nd image!

  2. Love the bathroom designs – especially the first. Contemplating concrete slab for our principal bathroom – simple, minimal design, so appreciate your grey countertop! ;) Love your work, Leslie!
