The Boulders Lodge at Singita, South Africa

Singita (“place of miracle”) was a wonderful setting for our South African safari. The Boulders Lodge overlooks the Sand River, where wildlife gathers.  The lodge and each of the suites are thatched roof structures and are  filled with contemporary furnishings, natural materials, neutral colors and textured fabrics.  Here are some photos of the interior of  our suite:

The luxurious bathroom, with its natural stone, has a beautiful claw foot tub and a view out to the bush. The outdoor shower is just beyond the glass door.

Here's a great shot of the view of the bush from the bathroom suite. Notice the infinity pool on the deck.

The makeup vanity is fabricated from stone and wood with a mirror that hangs from the ceiling.

The beautiful canopy bed, with mosquito netting that's drawn closed at night, has a view through floor to ceiling windows onto the bush. Notice the natural stucco walls and the stone floor.

The suite's living room has comfortable seating areas, a dining table and a beautiful view out onto the trees and the bush. All of the materials used are very natural; the fabrics and furnishings are neutral, contemporary and appropriate to the setting.

The infinity pool overlooking the bush. What an extraordinary setting!

I was so inspired by the use of the natural materials in the construction of the suites as well as the furnishings that were used. I hope to have the opportunity to bring the influence of the African bush into a Leslie Fine Interiors project!
