It’s a Wrap! A Space for Creativity in your Home

When you are an avid crafter, event planner or frequent host/hostess, it’s really a luxury to have a separate space in your home where you can let your creativity run wild! A gift wrap or craft room will allow you to store and organize materials and work in a setting that caters to creative thought. According to Miriam Gottfried of the Wall Street Journal, “Real-estate listings are touting wrapping rooms more frequently, and organizational outfitters like the Container Store have created specialized products to trick them out.” For some homeowners, clearing out a large empty closet in a room may be enough space. However, for those who are serious crafters and gift wrappers, more space is needed to set up workstations and organize crafting materials like ribbon dispensers, paper, bows, gift bags, etc. If you frequently host soirees in your home for your friends and family and also give out small gifts and thank yous to your guests, your crafting and gift wrapping room will help to make the process as enjoyable and efficient as ever. Here are a couple of amazing rooms:

What do you think of this trend? Does it make sense for you to use that extra bedroom for a craft or gift wrapping room? (This sure beats the couple of stuffed drawers in my house that hold my wrapping paper and tape!)

  1. I DREAM of a gift wrapping / crafting room! Right now I just have a craft box and gift wrap bin that I drag out when I need it…one of these days…

    Happy weekend!
