The architecture of this Boston brownstone home has beautiful detailed moldings, fireplace surrounds and wood floors. The windows are large and ceilings are high. When the clients purchased the home, they wished to incorporate a more transitional aesthetic into the more traditional architecture using clean-lined furnishings and light colored but durable fabrics along with some pops of color.
The eye-catching feature of the elegant living room is the tall drapes that adorn the large windows. Using a soft aqua colored fabric, the treatment is quire unusual, employing an intricate basket weave pattern. The same color is used throughout the space as an accent with the soothing cream colored fabrics, area rug and wall color.
The lighting in the living room is quite dramatic with a large custom fixture that features one hundred individual crystals with coordinating wall sconces. Other metal finishes and crystals are used in the space to further the sparkle and shine with gorgeous crystal finals on the ends of the drapery rods, beautiful crystal lamps and silver leaf finishes on the bench and side tables.
Other areas of the home were updated and include a newly designed master bathroom as well as the addition of a wet bar.
